Lillian Smith (1871-1930)

Lillian Smith was one of the most formidable sharpshooters in the American West. Born in Coleville, California and rose to fame early in her life.

By the age of 10, she was already performing shooting exhibitions, and at 15 she joined Buffalo Bills Wild West Show, where she was billed as the "Champion California Huntress" A fierce rival to Annie Oakley, Smith built her reputation on speed, precision, and a bold an apologetic presence; often out shooting her contemporaries and redefining what a woman in the west could be.

5" x 5" inch hand pulled Lino cut: printed in-house on a 100 year old etching press on  Arches fine-art paper with natural deckled edge - Open Edition.
